Volusia County Farm Bureau supports hands-on agriculture and science instruction in the classroom. Volusia educators in all grade levels (pre-K – 12) can apply now for a mini-grant.
Last school year Volusia Farm Bureau awarded ten mini-grants. Some of the grants awarded were for raising chickens, a carnivorous plant garden and a vegetable garden. Teachers were able to include age appropriate instruction about life cycles in these lessons.
Applications for the 2022-23 mini-grants that focus on the science of food, fiber or foliage will be given a higher ranking.
The maximum grant amount is $250 and the application deadline is September 30, 2022. Please see the application for more details.
